Ahli Nautika Tingkat I ANT I Sertifikat ini merupakan sertifikat kelas atas atau profesional yang dimiliki oleh pelaut yang mengendarai kapal yang berat dan pelayaran yang curam. 2. Ahli Nautika Tingkat II ANT II Meskipun masih dalam taraf kelas atas, namun yang membedakan sertifikat ini adalah kapal yang berhasil dijalankan tidak terlalu memiliki ABK yang banyak atau berat. Pemilik sertifikat ini bisa menjabat menjadi Mualim I/ Chief Officer dengan kapal dan pelayaran tanpa dengan ukuran kapal kurang dari ton dan tanpa ada batasan pada dengan ukuran kapal kurang dari ton dan harus pernah menjabat sebagai Mualim 1 minimal 2 tahun lamanya. 3. Ahli Nautika Tingkat III ANT III Pemilik sertifikat keahlian pelaut ini adalah siswa yang telah lulus pada sekolah akademi kelautan. Dimana nantinya pemilik sertifikat ini bisa menjabat sebagai Mualim I/ Chief Officer max 3000 DWT. 4. Ahli Nautika Tingkat IV ANT IV Pemiliknya adalah pelayar pada kapal yang besar di berbagai jenis pulau-pulau. 5. Ahli Nautika Tingkat V ANT V Pemiliknya adalah pelayar pada kapal yang kecil di berbagai macam pulau-pulau. 6. Ahli Nautika Tingkat Dasar ANT D Ini adalah sertifikat paling dasar yang dimiliki oleh seorang pelaut. Jenis – jenis sertifikat pelaut untuk mesin 1. Ahli Teknik Tingkat I ATT I Dimana sertifikat ini adalah kelas atas pada ketrampilan mesin dan bisa menjadi kepala mesin pelayaran tanpa batas. 2. Ahli Teknik Tingkat II ATT II Sertifikat ini bisa digunakan untuk menjabat menjadi Second Enginerr kapal. Sedikit di bawah kepala mesin pelayaran tanpa batas. Selain itu juga bisa menjadi kepala mesin bertenaga kurang dari 3000 KW, dengan ketentuan pelayaran tak terbatas. Yang terakhir adalah kepala mesin daerah pantai dengan tenaga mesin tanpa berbatas. 3. Ahli Teknik Tingkat III ATT III Pemilik sertifikat ini bisa menggunakannya untuk jabatan perwira jaga tanpa batas, second Engineer bertenaga kurang dari 3000 KW dengan ketentuan pelayaran tak berbatas, kepala mesin daerah pantai dan harus memiliki pengalaman minimal menjadi Masinis 1 selama dua tahun. 4. Ahli Teknik Tingkat IV ATT IV Sertifikat ini bisa digunakan untuk menjabat sebagai Masinis kapal antar pulau. 5. Ahli Teknik Tingkat V ATT V Sertifikat ini bisa digunakan untuk menjabat sebagai Masinis kapal kecil antar pulau. 6. Ahli Teknik Tingkat Dasar ATT D Sertifikat ini adalah sertifikat paling dasar dalam ketrampilan mesin. Itulah beberapa macam sertifikat ketrampilan pelaut yang wajib diketahui jenis dan fungsinya.
